Homewood Justice Center

The new 57,500-square-foot three-story public safety building houses the police department, municipal court, and comprehensive municipal jail facilities.  The state-of-the-art facility includes an E911 center, crime lab and evidence storage, animal control department, training areas, educational presentation rooms, and private debriefing rooms. An expansive garage houses multiple vehicle types near an outdoor carport, onsite vehicle investigation bay, and adjacent maintenance garage. Before moving to their new home under one roof, these departments were scattered throughout the city of Homewood.  CMH understood the complexity and needs of the command staff in order to design a building that met the current and future needs of all the departments. In addition to tackling functionality and site challenges, CMH provided an efficient solution that met their $21 million all-inclusive budget.

One of the most challenging things, besides the site, was to get the program whittled down to meet their budget.

The original design was $25M and we redesigned it to be an efficient design that met their $21M all-inclusive budget

It has been a great experience working with professionals at CMH.

They have always been helpful and knowledgeable about anything we have ever brought to them. They listened to our wants and needs for our new building, and they brought us something that is going to be great to work with for years to come. They have led us through this $21+ million project, and I can recommend them without any reservations at all.
