Originally designed as a retail cafeteria, the UAB Dining Hall was previously converted to an ‘all you care to eat’ facility with minimal changes to its layout.
Consequently, there were significant issues with congestion, queuing, and dish service. CMH and our design team addressed each of these issues with thoughtful design solutions that improved both operation and appearance within the tight budget and schedule.

UAB Dining Hall Renovation
CMH completed the design of this project in three months and managed the construction of this dining hall renovation over the four-month summer break while the dining hall remained operational. The project included a complete renovation of the serving areas, a newly enlarged dish room, and an improved 450-seat dining layout.
