The Avenue was at the forefront of Murfreesboro’s Gateway Overlay District zoning criteria and paved the way for what is now a vibrant and aesthetically cohesive area of the city, and we’ve been fortunate to stay involved with its ongoing evolution through changes in ownership and retailers.
Interestingly, it’s also located in an area that saw a lot of Civil War action, and early site work activities turned up a number of artifacts. The project team worked with the National Park Service and the Stones Rivers National Battlefield staff in respecting its historical significance.

The Avenue Murfreesboro
This large, masterplanned mixed-use center was one of the first commercial developments in the now booming area. Since 2006, CMH has worked closely with the Owners and with the City of Murfreesboro to meet stringent design guidelines and to coordinate the project with adjacent developments. Ongoing CMH projects in the city benefit from these longtime relationships through knowledge and understanding of the applicable review processes and priorities.
