Dan joined CMH not only with a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering successful, budget-conscious projects across diverse sectors—but also with specialized acumen in coordinating architectural and engineering documentation to ensure technical accuracy and seamless integration. Dan’s collegial demeanor makes him adept at fostering collaborative design environments, mentoring graduate architects, and solving complex design challenges through teamwork and strategic thinking. And it’s through this team-oriented mindset that Dan engages with clients and contractors to align project goals, resolve issues, and drive outcomes that balance design excellence and timely delivery.
“One of the most rewarding parts of architecture is bringing a client’s vision into reality,” says Dan. “Each design carries meaning for someone—a developer seeking rapid tenant growth, a medical team needing intuitive circulation, or a family dreaming of a home they couldn’t quite describe. When a space resonates with its owner, when it functions beautifully and feels right, that is great architecture.”
At home, Dan is a woodworker, beekeeper, blacksmith, and a poultryman with his own free-range chickens. He’s also an award-winning furniture designer—specifically for his experimental, nail- and glue-free work with traditional wood joinery—as well as an abstract painter and sketch artist. Dan even dabbles in video games and paranormal podcasts. But the only thing that outshines his incredibly diverse hobbies is his family and his faith. As the Senior Leader of his church and father of his family, Dan is as heartened by the Word and mysteries of God as he is humbled by the inexplicable wonder of his children. “I’m not sure anything is more difficult and rewarding than raising kids.”
